3 Essential Daily Practices to Boost Immunity During Covid19

Evolve Podcast with Dr. Bill Jensen Background Image

The global outbreak of Covid19 has caused us all to pause and ask ourselves: how can we protect ourselves and our families from becoming sick?

Total immunity is unrealistic, but there are some essential daily practices we can adopt that will help boost our immune systems and decrease our chances of contracting this novel virus, and other common virus infections such as the common flu.

In the first episode of The Wellness Experience Podcast, Dr. Bill Jensen discuses his most important tips for building and maintaining a strong, healthy immune system. Here, we’ll discuss a few of those tips.

Nothing beats the real thing, so head on over to the Evolve Wellness Experience podcast page to subscribe to the podcast wherever you listen, and watch this episode on YouTube!

1 – Reduce Excessive Stress

Stress in and of itself is not a bad thing – it’s an evolutionary response to a threat to our wellbeing. But in our day and age, allowing yourself to become over-stressed or enduring excessive stress regularly can lead to some really poor health outcomes – including a reduction in immune response.

Everyone relaxes in different ways – some people like to go to the gym to let out stress, while others find a good book on a lazy afternoon to be the answer. Whatever your avenue of stress reduction, be deliberate in incorporating those activities into your daily life during Covid19.

And don’t forget – both of our Premier Wellness Centers locations are open, and we offer some really fantastic services for reducing stress, including our world-class massage therapy services, and the revolutionary stress-reduction therapy NuCalm.

NuCalm is a patented & proven stress reduction technology based on neuroscience. The system blocks stress-inducing neurological pathways, and engages the central nervous system’s “calming” pathways, allowing you to instantly slip into a deep state of relaxation. NuCalm sessions can be purchased stand-alone or included in one of our excellent Wellness Club packages. Your first session is only $10 on promotion! Click here to get started.

2 – Take Care of Your Body

This one seems intuitive, right? But maybe not. Getting enough sleep, practicing healthy eating habits, drinking enough water throughout the day, and ensuring that your spine and back is aligned so that your central nervous system functions as designed without interruptions – all of these factors taken as a whole contribute to what we refer to as “whole-body wellness” – that is, wellness of the body, mind, and spirit.

Examine your daily routine closely. Chances are, one of these areas may be getting neglected. This is not to say you’re unhealthy or doing anything wrong – we are all human, and as a result, we get stuck in our learned habits. But it is a gentle reminder that wellness is never completely earned – it’s a daily, weekly, and yearly commitment to employing good, healthy habits that will benefit us over our lifetime.

So, again, take a look at your Covid-19 daily routine – in what area of self-care and taking care of your body will you pay closer attention to this week?

A healthy body, mind, & spirit allows your body’s natural processes to build and maintain a strong immune response.

3. Move, Move, Move…and Move Some More!

Without question, the most important thing you can do to keep your body, mind, and spirit active, healthy, and engaged, and therefore, increase your body’s natural ability to fight off infection and disease, is to move. Exercise, daily walks, stretching, and of course, chiropractic care on a regular basis results in a stronger connection between your spine, ligaments, muscles, bones, and brain.

As a chiropractic & physical therapy office, of course we extoll the benefits of movement! The human race did not evolve to sit at computer desks all day. And for those who are up on their feet all day, that wear on your body takes its toll over time, too.

The answer is to take the time to stretch, move, and get adjusted to re-align and re-set a healthy curvature of the spine and body, so that your brain can effectively and efficiently perform it’s neurological functions.

And what is one of the most important neurological functions your brain processes? Yep, you guessed it – immune response.

Stay safe out there, everyone, and don’t forget – we are always offering valuable introduction packages and specials at one of our two locations in Port St. Lucie. Whether you are seeking chiropractic care for an injury or ongoing wellness, post-op physical therapy, relaxing massages, or innovative mind-body wellness services and products, you can get started with us for low introductory specials and rates.
